Our Crash Bobbin Story...

​I started this journey in 2008, with a simple observation…

there was a need for premium quality crash protection, in South Africa.

​

​​Good Quality crash bobbins were not easily available and the cheaper options were just not cutting it!

​

I teamed up with a few engineers - we did a loads of research into many different kinds of bike accidents and various motorbike designs.

​

We looked at hundreds of materials and spent a good few months on a few designs until we finally ended up with two types that were ready to be tested.

​​​

​Motorsport is the best testing ground! As race bikes are pushed to and often beyond their limits, this was the perfect place to closely experience high and low speed falls.

So, we sponsored a few track bikes.

Over the next two years we perfected our designs and materials, until we finally had products that were truly amazing!

By 2011 we were ready to manufacture and sell, crash bobbins that we could be proud of.
